We started building collaborative AI canvas tools before the category had a name. While others were building single-player AI tools, we were obsessed with a different question: what happens when AI enters a room where multiple people are creating together?
In March 2026, a16z described “shared canvas AI platforms that multiple people can use at once” as a tool that doesn't exist yet.
It does now.

Demian Borba
Co-founder & CEO
Demian has spent 20+ years deeply inside the creative workflow, first suffering it, then building for it. His first decade was in digital agencies and Flash, living the grind of endless rounds and the file that was never the latest file. His second he spent building the tools: Developer Advocate at BlackBerry and later PayPal, one of the first Product Managers on Adobe XD in Silicon Valley, and later Principal Product Manager at Intuit. He started Pactto betting on a shared canvas before the category had a name, then took it through Stanford's StartX, which accelerated the build and deepened its AI focus. It is the room he needed back in the agency.
Sherif Assaf
Co-founder & CPO
Sherif spent nearly two decades at Adobe, and previously at Microsoft, building collaboration-first products for creative teams (Adobe XD and Adobe Express). He's spent much of his career focused on helping people align better and removing the friction that gets in the way of great collaboration. That passion led to Pactto: bringing people, conversation, feedback, and work together so creative teams can move faster, with AI as a true collaborator.
Creative work is collaborative. The tools should be too. Not async comment threads that strip out the nuance of a real conversation. Pactto puts everyone in the same room, gives them an AI agent that understands what's happening, and makes sure changes happen while the intent is still fresh.
The best feedback happens in conversation, not in comment threads.
Written notes lose nuance. “Fix the color” means nothing without the conversation that produced it. We built Pactto so the conversation IS the feedback, captured by AI with full context.
Your work deserves to be seen at the quality you made it.
Compressed screen shares are an insult to the craft. We stream at studio quality because the difference between “it looks fine” and “this is incredible” is often just the fidelity of the presentation.
AI should feel like a teammate, not a feature.
Your AI assistant is always available. It listens. It captures. It suggests. It acts when asked. It builds context over time. It's helpful, it's magical.
The room should persist.
When the session ends, the room shouldn't disappear. Every asset, annotation, decision, and conversation should be exactly where you left it. Tomorrow, next week, next month.
